African immigrant communities in San Diego

To complete the assignment, you will do the following:
1. Select an immigrant community that currently lives in the San Diego region and
presenting a proposal of what you hope to learn and discuss
2. Find and document important data and information about this community
3. Conduct additional research by finding and evaluating articles from credible publications
4. (Optional: conduct an interview with a member of this immigrant community)
5. Synthesize ideas gathered from multiple sources in a logical and coherent essay
6. Include accurate documentation to credit your sources
7. Participate in peer-review workshop, giving you insights into improving your writing
8. Conference with you professor to gain even more insights
9. Revise for final draft submission
THESIS
Your essay should be able to provide the enough information to help us understand who they are,
why they are here, what they have contributed to, and how they have struggled. I don’t want to
dictate what stance you would end up taking, but your argument will likely come in the form of
suggesting why it is important for these people to belong to a community and to have a support
network, and/or suggesting what else can be done to support this community and the greater
good of the San Diego region.
In the coming weeks we will work together to gather data, evaluate resources and construct our
