In this assignment, you will apply keywords/vocabulary words/concepts we have studied this semester to the world around you. You will choose a “text” — e.g.,. a novel, a film, an album, a television show, a house, an object, etc. and examine how it enables you to address two or three American Studies keywords/vocabulary words/concepts of your choosing. You will then write a 4-6 page essay describing how the keywords reveal themselves in your chosen text.
RUBRIC (30 possible pts.):
Paper includes student’s name, date, and a title (5pts.)
Chosen text and keywords are directly identified (5 pts.)
Paper includes a brief summary as well as 3-5 references to specific aspects/excerpts of the text being analyzed (5 pts.)
Paper includes references to 3-5 different American Studies texts (that we read as a class in AMST345) to support discussion of chosen keywords/vocabulary words/concepts (5 pts.)
Paper includes correct citations and a bibliography of sources (5 pts.)
Paper meets the indicated length requirement (5 pts.)
