Some things to think about:
Disclaimer: These questions are just here to help guide your thinking. You do not have to answer them directly. You may, for example, find one aspect of the reading interesting and not want to touch on the other things. That is perfectly fine.
1. What was your experience of watching these films? Were you able to finish them?
2. Do you think Macdonald is on to something? Do you buy his argument regarding the “ecological consciousness-raising” aspect of these films? How would you describe such a consciousness? If so, what comes next?
3. What are some ways we might conceive of an eco-cinema apart from Macdonald’s analysis? If you reject his position, is there anything in his writing you find useful?
