Psychology report assignment brief

– You will be given 3 sporting case-studies which are based on real cases
– All cases have been approved by athletes to be used
– You need to select ONE and interpret all the information you are provided with, research the areas and suggest an appropriate intervention that is underpinned with appropriate theory, research and practitioner frameworks
– You are required to submit a report explaining and discussing the athlete’s psychological weakness and your proposed intervention.

Structure
– Orientation (introduction to the case) [200 words] o Breakdown the case study an discuss first observations using evidence from the case with links to your practitioner philosophy (approach to case study, practitioner focused or client focused)
– Initial assessment (interpretation of data set) [600 words] o Reporting your interpretation of the client data set
o Using theory and research to draw conclusions about the presenting problem
– Implementation of the intervention (planned intervention) [1000 words] o Aim of the intervention
o A detailed breakdown of the intervention
o Psychological skills detailed with the research and theory
o Suggested tasks and sessions with athlete
– Predicted outcomes of the intervention (summary) [200 words] o What are the intended outcomes in line with research?
