Write a classification essay of at least 1000 words and at least five ¶s on a subject of your choice. Be sure you follow the essential paradigm and rules of this mode, for example, be careful to define the limitations of your subject and to create at least three classes that don’t overlap. Pay special attention to development and unity. Follow the paradigm discussed in class.
While the subject is, as pointed out above, of your choice, it is expected you will choose a subject where classification serves a distinct, useful, and important purpose which will be made clear in your introductory statement. Facile classifications – such as Barbara Walker’s in “For Women, Mostly” (in D2L) may be entertaining but substantively shallow.
