Color analysis of an existing space preferably in Europe. It could be a public space like a café, Train station, house entrance with staircase, hostel lobby, co-working space etc. You should be able and allowed to take photos of the space for your analysis. The space should have been designed / planned by someone, so that you can talk about the possible intention of the author.
Text should clearly address different stages of analysis:
1. Introduction: Short information about project name, purpose, place, time, architect/designer
What? Who? Where? When?
2. Description of the color choice, color distribution, color source (e.g. light, materials)
Which color is used where, in which amount, texture, appearance, shape?
3. Analysis: impact, effect, impression of the described features
Which effect does the color use have emotionally, functionally, symbolically…?
4. Interpretation: possible reasons for the use of color, links between color and purpose
Why was the color implemented in this way? What could be the intention of the planner? How can it be related to
the time of construction?
5. Conclusion and evaluation
Which aspects of the use of color are successful? Is the space/project inventive and creative? Is it functional? Why or
