In a research paper, define and describe the causes and events of the Civil War and the consequences for both sides. Use the following guidelines to organize your paper.

Identify each side as well as the states that made up each side. Identify and describe the reasons or issues that led to the Civil War. For each side, create a timeline that illustrates the series of events that led to the war. Define the main issue for each side. Identify where the major battles took place. What were the attitudes of people on both sides regarding the War? Describe the soldiers that fought on each side (trained in war or not). Did Native Americans, African Americans, and women participate in the war, if so, on which side and how? Which side won the war? What were the consequences for each side? How many casualties were on each side? In your conclusion, address whether you think this war could have been avoided and if so, how? Do you think that the issues that led to the Civil War still exist in the U.S. today?

Your paper should be typed, double-spaced, and in 12 pt. Times New Roman font. It must be 6 pages, including a Title page and a Reference page. You should use a minimum of 5 sources and you must credit your sources as depicted in the Citations post by Br. Faaris
