1) Procurement routes play a significant part in how design information is captured and shared between members of the project team. First, explain what is meant by this statement. Then, critically compare two different procurement routes (e.g. traditional and design and build, or alliancing) and argue why one may be better than another in terms of design and its management. In answering this question you may like to provide practical examples.

3) You are working for a client who wants to develop and area of land and asks you how much the development will cost, noting that in many cases budgets are breached. Advise your client on what you can do to help.

4) Lean Manufacturing Systems have been noted to improve the management of construction operations. Using relevant examples, discuss how lean principles can benefit construction projects.
