Write a 10 page paper on the question/thesis I have below –
Research question: How did the War on Drugs specifically target African Americans, and to what extent did this impact its failure?

Thesis for the paper: The War on Drugs specifically targeted African Americans by racial discrimination conducted by law enforcement. Former domestic police chief John Ehrlichman, having stated, “The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people.”
Law enforcement targeted low income communities of color, more than any other locations. Those with small amounts of drugs would be sentenced to jail for decades. Insteading of focusing on a true resolution such as rehabilitation, incineration was the go to. Because of this strategy, the war on drugs was bound to fail from its start. This strategy was many’s only way to survive financially, and the enforcement against selling was never going to be enough to stop their livelihoods.
