In-depth Research into a topic Related to the Oppression of the Jews During the Holocaust
The goals are:
– Increase Personal Understanding of the Roots of Hatred and Oppression
– Become more Familiar with What Actually Happened in Nazi Germany
– Become more Aware of the fact that Supremacist Ideologies Can and Do Still Exist
– Recognize the Critical Importance of Being Alert and Ready to Help Uproot the Evils of Prejudice and Oppression Anywhere
Method:
Students will research an aspect of Nazi Germany and The Holocaust, using at least three reputable sources. Two of these should be scholarly articles from peer-reviewed, academic journals. The Library Databases will be the source of these articles. Notes from the articles will be taken, in point form (key words phrases), using the form below. (The actual articles will be printed out and stapled to these forms.)
In the present circumstance, we cannot print out and staple the articles. Instead, include very accurate information so that anyone would be able to find each article. Some latitude will be given regarding the two peer-reviewed articles. If you find another article from a reputable source, including encyclopedias, biographies, histories, or other sources, you may use these in place of one of the scholarly articles. Check with the instructor as to whether it would be a valid substitution.
You will supplement these articles with other researched information.
The Final Project will consist of:
1.) At least 1 ½ – 2 pp. typed in MLA style, describing and explaining the topic
2.) At least two full pages of notes, typed in list form, from the peer-reviewed, academic journal articles, as described above.
