Assignment Overview:
Your group will act as a hospitality management consultancy firm advising the owners of an outdated four
star hotel based in the USA (the exact location will be randomly assigned for your team).
The objective is to upgrade a hotel to a five star status.
The existing hotel must have between 100-250 rooms and 1-3 F&B outlets.
Your group must create a report providing documentation to the owners related to specific tasks assigned
by each of your five instructors.
Overall aim:
This project will allow students to demonstrate their understanding of different operational
and managerial subjects and provide them with an opportunity to demonstrate their ability
to coordinate and integrate operational changes which once combined will lead to achieving
the most optimal result and greater level of profitability for the hotel.
Rooms Division Management Task
Task
A) Divide your rooms into types and categories and create the rate for each type.
Should be at least 3 types. The rates should be based on the market approach
(compare the prices of the competition and decide where to put your prices).
B) Develop a plan on how to sell and upsell your rooms.
C) You should make at least $2,000,000 (two million American dollars) for the Rooms
Division department (from the rooms rental income only), and you need to show how
you would make this money. Show the revenue generated for each room category for
the year.
D) You need to create a website for your business with an area for the Rooms Division
