1. You MUST begin every body paragraph with a clear topic sentence. Your topic sentence lets the reader know what you are going to argue in that paragraph and what example you are going to be using. Your topic sentence begins with part of your thesis and ends with the specific example you are going to use in that paragraph.
2.The second part of the topic sentence is the specific example you are going to use in that paragraph. For this essay there are no quotes or parts of a book or research article. The examples for this essay are clear, specific descriptions of specific scenes from the episode. A scene is between 30 seconds and about 5 minutes long. A scene is any part of an episode or film that takes place at the same time and the same location. The minute the episode or film moves to a different location, it’s a new scene. You need to describe only ONE scene per body paragraph.
3. Explain how the specific events of your scene work to support your specific argument. This is the most difficult part of your entire paragraph. You need to go slowly here. People always think that the quote speaks for itself. It doesn’t. You need to explain your quote for your reader. Go slowly. Focus on the specific events of the scene. Do not reference other parts of the episode. Explain how your scene works to support the specific argument in your topic sentence.
