Persuasive Essay

Write an opinion-based paragraph essay that includes a one-paragraph introduction, one-paragraph conclusion, and at least three body paragraphs.

In your essay, include a thesis statement, body paragraphs that support your thesis (i.e., provide reasons why someone should agree with it), and a clear conclusion or restatement of your thesis.

You DO NOT need to do research for your essay. However, if you do use outside sources, you MUST include in-text citations and a references page.

Sample topics include:
• Vending machines should/should not be in schools.
• Elementary schools should/should not have physical education (P.E.) every day.
• Increased use of technology has/has not resulted in poor communication skills.
• Natural ability is/is not more important than hard work.
• The most important aspect of a person’s job is/is not how much money they earn.

You may argue for or against any of these topics; just make sure your position is clear and supported with specific reasons or examples.
