Satirical Essay

With the myriad of issues plaguing our world, what issue, do you think, most needs to be reformed?

1. Identify a problem. If you could change something about your world (your school, community, city,

country or world), what would it be? How does this problem impact others? What has been done to

address this problem to date?

2. Identify a ridiculous solution and the advantages to the solution. Your solution has to be absurd

enough to call attention to the severity of the problem. Also, answer any objections you foresee being

raised by any reader.

3. Offer actual proposal and advantages.

4. Employ satiric techniques and clear writing. Enhance your writing with irony, hyperbole,

understatement, juxtaposition, or any other techniques that will highlight your call for reform.
