Theory of Piaget’s Cognitive Development, Erikson’s Psychosocial Development & Baumrind’s Parenting Style

What changes in emotional reactions, social interactions, and cognitive skills do you see from 2 to 11 years
of age? In particular, discuss children’s behavior in terms of Piaget’s preoperational and concrete operational
stages of cognitive development as well as Erikson’s initiative versus guilt and industry versus inferiority
stages of psychosocial development. Finally, describe parenting style, according to Baumrind’s theory of
parenting styles.

• Describe the dynamics of the Erikson’s initiative vs. guilt and industry vs. inferiority stages of psychosocial
development
