For this assignment, you will choose a person, place, or object that has changed over time. It could be a house, a hometown, an old hangout, or it could be
someone who used to be immature and irresponsible but is now a successful, mature adult. You could even write about yourself and how you’ve changed
from a high school student to a college student or how you’ve changed since becoming a parent, etc. You could write a descriiption of a car when it was new
and now how it is years later or about a childhood toy or blanket that you’ve saved. You get the idea–something that has undergone changes over time.
In your introductory paragraph, you will write three sentences, the last one being the 2 point parallel thesis statement. The thesis statement should look
something like this: My once new 2014 Ford Mustang has changed from a shiny, new attention grabbing car to a rusty, old embarrassing car. (Parallel points
are highlighted) What you should accomplish in the first two sentences of the introduction is explained in the screen cast.
The first body paragraph should be the descriiption of how the person, place, or thing, used to be. There should be no fewer than 6 points of descriiption. The
second body paragraph should be the descriiption of how the person, place, or thing is now, addressing the same 6 points as in the first body paragraph and
in the same order. The body paragraphs should each be 10 to 13 sentences long.
The concluding paragraph has the job of summing up, expressing an opinion, and restating the thesis statement. It is also three sentences long.
