You have two drafts: 1) defines accountability; 2) provides an overview of internal control.
Now please follow them and continue with expanding the paper. You have identified accountability and its
predecessors and outcomes. Consider how internal control mechanisms that you have identified impacts the
relationship between predecessors, accountability, and outcomes. You will be synthesizing the two papers by
bringing in other management theories to explain how internal control impacts accountability in organizations.
You have identified several internal control elements. For each of them, you need to write a section to explain the
relationship on/with accountability. Your explanation should be a theoretical explanation. For this, you need to
identify an appropriate theory to explain the relationship. Look at the work of authors like Tetlock or Frink &
Klimoski, or Hall. They have developed theoretical models that you can use to provide an explanation of the
relationships. For each control element, you will probably need one or two pages.
