Cultural and Diversity Influences on Oral Health Care: A Comprehensive Analysis

In this 8 page paper (NOT including cover page and reference page) students will explore the multifaceted relationship between culture, diversity, and oral health care, aiming to shed light on the impact of cultural factors on oral health practices, access to care, and outcomes. The diverse cultural backgrounds of individuals contribute to variations in oral health beliefs, behaviors, and attitudes, influencing their oral health status. Understanding these cultural nuances is crucial for developing effective and culturally sensitive oral health care strategies to address the diverse needs of populations.

The paper must be backed up with research. APA formatting and a minimum of 5 professional references are required. References should be less than 10 years old in order to reflect current information.

Paper should be 8 pages, double-spaced, size 12 font, with 1” margins. The 8 pages DOES NOT include the cover page or reference page.

Paper should be composed of the following elements:

Discuss the influence of traditional foods on oral hygiene and cavity prevalence
Explore cultural variations in oral health practices, including traditional remedies

Analyze how socioeconomic status within diverse communities affects access to oral health care
Discuss disparities in oral health outcomes related to income and education
Language and communication
Explore the importance of language and communication in oral health care access
Discuss strategies for overcoming language barriers

Students are expected to write at a Bachelor’s of Science college level. The following components should be displayed in the student’s writing ability:

Writing clearly and concisely
Before beginning to write, students should order thoughts logically, both at the paragraph and at the sentence levels.
In scientific writing, sound organizational structure is the key to clear, precise and logical communication. 
The prime objective of scientific reporting is clear communication. Students can achieve this by presenting ideas in an orderly manner and by expressing themselves smoothly and precisely. Establishing a tone that conveys the essential points of the assignment in an interesting manner will engage readers and communicate ideas more effectively.
Readers will better understand student ideas if there is an aim for continuity in words, concepts and thematic development from the opening statement to the conclusion.
Grammar and usage
Incorrect grammar and careless construction of sentences distract the reader, introduce ambiguity and generally obstruct communication.
For more information and to ensure proper usage of verbs, pronouns, nouns, adjectives and adverbs, no misplacing modifiers, using relative pronouns and subordinate conjunctions correctly, and proper usage of parallel construction, students ae encouraged to reference the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. 
Mechanics of style
Punctuation- Punctuation establishes the cadence of a sentence, telling the reader where to pause (comma, semicolon, and colon) stop (period and question mark) or make a detour (dash, parentheses, and brackets). Punctuation of a sentence usually denotes a pause in thought; different kinds of punctuation indicate different kinds and lengths of pauses. (APA, 2019)
Spelling- Students should conform to standard American English as exemplified in Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.
Citing Sources
All sources must be cited to avoid plagiarism.
Plagiarism- Plagiarism is when authors present the work of another as if it were their own work. Whether paraphrasing, quoting an author directly, or describing an idea that influenced a student’s work, students must cite the source.
References in APA publications are cited in text with an author-date citation system and are listed alphabetically in the reference list. This style of citation briefly identifies the source for readers and enables them to locate the source information in the alphabetical reference list at the end of the case study paper. Each reference cited in text must appear in the reference list and each entry in the reference list must be cited in text. Students must make certain that each source referenced appears in both places and that the text citation and reference list entry are identical in spelling of author names and year. (APA, 2019).
